Carlow GAA are delighted to announce the appointment, subject to ratification at the next County Board meeting, of Roscommon native Shane Curran as Senior Football Team Manager for the 2025 season.
Shane has a wealth of experience as a player, coach and manager. He played in goal for Roscommon at Minor, U/21 and Senior grade in an intercounty career that spanned 16 years from 1989 to 2005. He continued playing club football until 2014, winning an All-Ireland Club Title in 2013 with St Brigid’s. He has also played Railway Cup for Connaught. Shane has been involved in coaching and managing teams at both club and county level for 20 years with successful stints in Roscommon, Offaly and Westmeath.
Speaking of Shane’s appointment, Carlow Chairperson Jim Bolger stated: “I am delighted that Carlow GAA have secured the services of Shane Curran as Senior Football Team Manager. I believe Shane’s commitment and passion as a player, which continued into his career as a coach and a manager, will have a hugely positive effect on the Carlow Senior Football Team. Shane’s unwavering energy and enthusiasm will hopefully drive Carlow’s ambitions to new heights and on behalf of all in Carlow GAA I want to wish Shane and his team the very best of luck going forward into 2025.”
