weekend roundup

After a frenetic weekend of Championship hurling, MLR sit firmly atop the pile having made light work Naomh Bríd last Friday night at Headquarters. Rangers’ power proved too much for the Leighlin men as they again underlined their credential as serious title contenders. St Mullins bounced back after their opening night loss at the hands of their nearest neighbours last week and proved with their excellent victory over Naomh Eoin that they will yet again have a massive say where the trophy rests its base next Winter. The Myshall men will be very unhappy with the manner of their defeat and will be smarting over the two week break as they now focus their attentions on the big ball. In the big derby game on Sunday evening, Erin’s Own just prevailed in a thrilling game of hurling against Ballinkillen. In a game where no inch was given or taken easily, the Bagenalstown outfit will be extremely happy to have put their toe back into the water which flows towards Netwatch Cullen Pk. in late Autumn time. For full results of all the JJ Kavanagh & Sons’ Senior, Intermediate and Junior Hurling Champ. results this weekend please go to that section of our website.
